Hello Readers,Excuse the time delay. A few of us thought that it may be good to get back to classics. Do like longer classics but have decided against them for the moment. Charles Dickens, George Eliot, Fyodor Doestoyevsky are amazing but are usually bricks in weight and volume.
So we have decided upon two novels about women. In Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen the business of marriage as the only path available to women. In Turn of the Screw by Henry James a woman in possession of a career or is she in possession?

Ceredwin Dovey, Only the Astronauts
Hello Bibliophiles,We are reading and chatting about Ceredwin Dovey's Only the Astronauts 7pm Thursday July 17 at Cafe Otto 79 Glebe Point Road Glebe. She was a local standout at this year's Sydney Writer's Festival. And has a different take on the art of story telling compared to most contemporary Australian authors.
Please bring along suggestions for books and for this meeting or another a chat about bookmarks will be informative. What we use, associations, etc. For example I used to like using the Australian $20 dollar note because its distinct colour stood out. But after a decade of losing a few to books I am back to tourist bookmarks for the exotic art of reading.
